BACKGROUND INFORMATION

VIETNAM FASHION MARKET – OVERSEAS FAMOUS BRAND NAME
Along with growing income of Vietnam’s people, the standard of luxury has been increasing.  One can easily find the world famous brand in several shops located in the center of big cities, especially Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi Capital, Binh Duong City and Da Nang City.

Those brands are: ADIDAS, ALEXANDER MCQUEEN, ARMANI, D&G, DIOR, ESCADA, FENDI, GUCCI, JEAN PAUL GAULTIER, LACOSTE, LAVIN, LOUIS VUITTON, MANGO, MIU MIU, MEXX, PAUL SMITH, PRADA GIVENCHY, VALENTINO, ZARA…

MADE-IN-VIETNAM FASHION RISES
Only several years ago, Hong Kong and Korean fashion and western fashion trade-marks such as CK, ARMANI, DKNY, GUESS and GUCCI were the favourites of young people in particular and those who were fond of famous foreign trademarks.  Now, made-in-Vietnam fashion has occupied its share in the market and many trademarks have become familiar with customers.
The made-in Vietnam fashion market has never been as effervescent as now.  Many fashion shops and centers, under the name of famous manufacturers or young designers have been opened and theirs products have won the prestige of customers.  Those made-in Vietnam trademarks have vied hard with foreign ones on ‘fashion streets’ in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.

FAMOUS BRAND SOURCING IN VIETNAM
Foreign invested companies have one advantage over domestic firms because foreign invested companies are using higher quality materials obtained from external sources and they have a stable relationship with a customer base. Many domestic companies seem satisfied to be working as processing enterprises for famous foreign firms as they are weak in product design.

They do not want to try to export under their own brand name feeling that if they overextend themselves they may face bankruptcy.
